I must say....I agree completely.Bring back R1's 'atomosphere'. R2 was decent but R1 it wasn't.
No firmware application whether by update or otherwise is capable of ruining a blu-ray drive,lens,etc.etc.
The Drive is autonomous,it is NOT affected by changes to system procedure or function.
The cpu/gpu itself is targeted by adverse firmware changes and through this it may seem as though the drive is dead,when in fact it is not.The correct information is simply not being cycled to/relayed properly,effectively blocking the drives primary function.

Ever.My launch 60 has been through no less than 15 sudden power outages(I live in the mountains) literally.
X amount of firmware updates,X amount of gaming,X amount of downloads,not one worthwhile issue.
Of course,I cannot and do not represent everyone.My experience is the antithesis of this article and should be considered accordingly.Firmware updates crashing systems.....systems never crashing due to firmware updates....

Most of my favorite games this gen output at 720....when optimum conditions are achieved.
Still my fave games.
1080 is preferred but ultimately not required.
The proof is in the gameplay.Hd resolution exceeding 720 is nice but not a pre-requisite for a great game.

I generally consider OPM's scores/reviews to be close to my own impressions.
Not that it really changes anything,Heavy Rain was always in my sighs regardless.This only helps to secure my purchase and confirm my initial impressions of the game.
